The Carrollton-Farmers Branch Association for the Gifted and Talented advocates and supports both excellent and equitable district-wide gifted and talented educational opportunities for those children in the Carrollton-Farmers Branch Independent School District (CFBISD) requiring this type of special needs attention. The Association shall initiate, encourage, and facilitate constructive communications with its members, the CFBISD Board of Trustees, central administration, Advanced Academic Services, campus administrators, G/T teachers, counselors, campus G/T parent groups and others involved with the formulating and delivering of gifted and talented educational services. The Association shall make every reasonable effort in helping the district become and maintain exemplary gifted and talented services that are accessible to any student that requires differentiated instruction to meet their academic needs.

C-FB AGT is considered a partner of the school district, working for parents and educators in order to help students reach their full potential. Our members facilitate educational training for teachers and parents, interacting with campus G/T liaisons, and volunteering with other organizations and committees, such as SENG (Supporting the Emotional Needs of the Gifted), Council PTA as well as individual campus PTA units. We offer support, leadership, and promote networking and information sharing on all levels.

 

Through our networking, publications and resources, C-FB AGT:

• Promotes the national and regional G/T community,

• Develops resources in support of the G/T community,

• Conducts educational training programs and facilitate networking events to further community understanding.
